- Check when the discussion was issued and which area and time period it covers.
- Look for what may change: the timing, location or amount of rain, snow, wind or other weather.
- Follow current warnings and local instructions even when parts of a forecast remain uncertain.
A rain or snow percentage describes the chance of precipitation for a place and time. It is not a score for how accurate the entire forecast will be. Read the NWS guide to forecast terms.
