A border agency's mutual-aid area does not stop at the line, so the CONUS rectangle runs to 52N and 22N deliberately: that covers the Canadian border corridor including Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and the Maritimes, and the Mexican border states past Monterrey. Amended 2026-09-08. The Alaska rectangle's western edge moved from -172.5 to -180 to close a real hole: Adak and Atka are inhabited US locations that returned 204 with no basemap at all. Satellite imagery is NOT implied by any of this — the imagery archive is federal public-domain NAIP and stops at the US border.",
